No, families or schools can contact Jump Start Centre directly.  It is always good practice to inform your GP and NHS of the services a child or adult is receiving.  Wherever possible our OTs will work closely with other professionals involved in a person’s care.

Yes, all of our staff have DBS certificates, and they are all members of the HCPC.

Yes, as a parent myself, I believe that collaborative approach between school and parents/caregiver is the most productive. I will provide consent forms for a school to send home, and will happily meet with parents to discuss their concerns.

Yes, all Occupational Therapists adhere to a strict code of ethics and policies, including confidentiality.  We conform to the Data Protection Act 1998 and will treat all records accordingly.  Please ask Jump Start director for a copy of our confidentiality policy.

It is always best to contact Jump Start to obtain a copy of our present fee structure.  We charge differing amounts according to the type of assessment and report required, and whether the therapy is at our Centre or elsewhere.

Jump Start has a comprehensive set of policies and risk assessments on – Health and Safety,  Child Protection, Confidentiality and others. Please ask Jump Start staff to obtain a copy.

We do understand that plans change but we have a strict cancellation policy at Jump Start.  If you must cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation, otherwise your session shall be charged at full rate.  This is only waived in the case of an emergency or serious illness.

At Jump Start we email you a monthly invoice, and you can either pay us by cheque or by direct transfer.

All our staff have Occupational therapy degrees, and are trained in Sensory Integration.  Many of our practitioners are advanced SI therapists.

Yes all the staff have professional indemnity insurance.  All staff are registered as Occupational Therapists through the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).  They are all members of the British College of Occupational Therapists, and many of our practitioners are part of the Sensory Integration Network and COT-SS IP the specialist section of Independent Practitioners.

Occupational therapists adhere to strict codes of ethics, including confidentiality.  All records and record keeping adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998. Except where the law requires disclosure (as in child protection cases), we obtain our families consent before we share details from their care records.

Yes, some of our therapists have extensive experience of working with adults. We welcome your interest in our adult services.  We are also experienced in working with young adults.

Fees are set depending on the time required, this includes assessments, therapy, report writing, planning and travel costs. A quote will be given when you contact Jump Start to explain your needs.  There are different levels of assessment, and these all have different prices. Clients will be invoiced monthly for ongoing care, half termly for schools or invoiced upon completion of assessment work.  Payment is required within 30 days of invoice date.
