No families or schools can contact Jump Start directly. It is always good practice to inform your GP and NHS services about a child’s care. Wherever possible our OTs will work closely with other professionals involved in a child’s care.
Yes all staff have up to date DBS certificates.
Yes all the staff have professional indemnity insurance. All staff are registered as Occupational Therapists through the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). They are all members of the British College of Occupational Therapists, and many of our practitioners are part of the Sensory Integration Network and COT-SS IP the specialist section of Independent Practitioners.
Occupational therapists adhere to strict codes of ethics, including confidentiality. All records and record keeping adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998. Except where the law requires disclosure (as in child protection cases), we obtain our families consent before we share details from their care records.
Yes, some of our therapists have extensive experience of working with adults. We welcome your interest in our adult services. We are also experienced in working with young adults.
Fees are set depending on the time required, this includes assessments, therapy, report writing, planning and travel costs. A quote will be given when you contact Jump Start to explain your needs. There are different levels of assessment, and these all have different prices. Clients will be invoiced monthly for ongoing care, half termly for schools or invoiced upon completion of assessment work. Payment is required within 30 days of invoice date.
If you must cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice. If you are unable to give this notice, sessions will be charged at the full rate. Fees are waived at the therapist’s discretion, only in the case of an emergency, or illness.
Jump Start has a full comprehensive set of policies and procedures, and these are available for you to see at the Centre.
Jump Start Therapy has an equal opportunities policy covering clients and employees. We will make sure that whenever possible, therapy can be accessed by all in need.
